A regular table is a two-dimensional table that displays the numeric values of the respondents that belong to the categorical group described in the cells of the table.

2. When to use a Table in visualization?

Data tables come to be handy when working with categorical variables to do a comparative analysis. Tables are also recommended for showing specific information that belongs to certain characteristics.

In other words, Table is great when:

  1. There are multiple data streams (dimensions)

  2. Comparing data in two directions

  3. Precise numbers are essential

  4. Ranking

Desired table: A table that shows sales and profit by product.

Step 1. Select Table Chart in the Data Builder

Step 2. Drag Department, Users, and Non Users to Columns

Step 3. Change Department from None to Group By

Step 4. Change Users, and Non Users from None to Aggregation.
